Our Message

What is popularly known as the Divine Mercy message and devotion is probably the largest grassroots movement in the history of the Catholic Church. It began with a seemingly ordinary nun in Poland, who lived at the beginning of the 20th century. Her name is St. Maria Faustina Kowalska.

Like St. Margaret Mary Alacoque before her, St. Faustina received visions from Jesus Christ that revealed the unfathomable mercy of His Heart. In obedience to her spiritual director, she recorded these revelations in a diary, which is now the main source for the modern message of Divine Mercy, a message that does not contradict the teachings of Sacred Scripture and the Catholic Church but reaffirms and reiterates them. Jesus chose to reemphasize the truth of His mercy in our time, because — as Pope John Paul II pointed out — the modern world is in such great need of mercy.
